During my MSc Psychology and Law at the University of Maastricht (2009-2010), I developed myself as legal psychologist. During this year, I learned about eyewitness testimony, creating line ups, decision-making by jurors and judges, and of course deception detection. Here, my love for this academic field really blossomed and I’m still grateful to the lecturers there (e.g., Harald Merckelbach, Tom Smeets, Henry Otgaar, Robert Horselenberg) who inspired me to become a researcher myself. Therefore, I felt very honored when the alumni magazine of Maastricht University wanted to interview me about my deception research. The result of this interview you can read here.
